Loneliness and Isolation Information
Information around loneliness, isolation and how to connect.
There are times in everyone’s life when we feel lonely. It can be for reasons like adjusting to the ending of a relationship, having problems with family and friends, or being away from home.
Feelings of loneliness and isolation can seem impossible to overcome, but recognising you’re experiencing them is an important first step.
A lack of social opportunity, a change in circumstance or living with a mental health condition like anxiety or depression can all lead to feelings of loneliness and isolation. You can also feel lonely and/or isolated because of the thoughts that are going through your head that you may not be sharing with other people or because you feel emotionally cut off from people around you.
We have some great resources that can help you recognise and manage feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Befriending Services offer supportive, reliable relationships through volunteer befrienders to people who would otherwise be socially isolated.
